CHARLIE - ARAB/QUARTER HORSE CROSS
Charlie is our most recent rescued horse. She is approximately 16 years old and arrived on December 30th, 2011. A little underweight, and hooves quite long and in the typical chronic founder shape, she was limping on her left front a little due to some deep collateral groove thrush. We are treating the thrush with Pete Ramey's famous solution of 50% athletes foot cream and 50% anti-bacterial ointment. We have given her a set-up hoof trim, some straight grass hay, and a dry pasture all to herself so she can eat at her leisure without being bullied by the other horses. She is eating well and we have 100% confidence she will heal well! |

ROSIE - MOLLY MULE
Rosie is AFF's first rescue. She is a sweet natured white molly mule, with lots of love to give, and many happy trail miles still ahead of her. She enjoys ear scratches and the closeness of her human companions. At about 14hh, she is a wonderful size for the short among humans, and would make a great pack mule or as a trail riding partner. She has much potential still and is also up for adoption. Read her story here. |

We understand there are many people out there who love horses, and would like to have one of their own, but perhaps don't have the means necessary to properly care for, are simply not ready to own one, or would like to educate themselves on what it takes to own a horse. If you are one of those people, consider sponsoring a horse from a horse rescue! It is a great way to help a horse in need and you would know you're helping in providing for its care, as well as learning about horses.
If you sponsor a horse at any tier level below you will automatically receive our quarterly e-newsletter, and monthly updates including pictures on the equine you sponsor. You will also be entitled to visit your sponsored horse! We request that you contact us ahead of time to make an appointment so we can ensure one of our staff members is present on your visit and can answer any questions you have.

Sponsor at the Walk = donation of $5 - $25 a month
- Entitles donor to their choice of one small AFF souvenir
Sponsor at the Trot = donation of $26 - $50 a month
- Entitles donor to their choice of two small AFF souvenirs, or one large AFF souvenir
Sponsor at the Canter = donation of $51 - $100 a month
- Entitles donor to their choice of 2 large AFF souvenirs, 50% off registration fees, and souvenirs at our events, and being placed on our "Wall of Fame" on the website with the choice of being listed anonymously, or with their first or full name.
Sponsor at the Gallop = donation of $101 + a month
- Entitles donor to their choice of 3 AFF souvenirs; 50% off registration fees and souvenirs at our events; being placed on our "Wall of Fame" on the website with their choice of being listed anonymously, or with their first or full name; and finally, at the $200 + level, you have the option of a lease agreement to ride (depending on health status of horse) and care for your sponsored horse as though they were your very own.
If you sponsor an equine under any tiered level for a year or more, you will be entitled with an option to adopt your sponsored equine if they are still available for adoption.
We want to protect the well being of our rescued horses, and the integrity of our horse rescue organization, so there is a probabtion period of three months of continuous sponsor payment before gifts and discounts will be effective. You will still receive updates and pictures of your sponsored equine during this period.
