IN LOVING MEMORY OF GINGER

Sadly, Ginger crossed the rainbow bridge in October of 2011. Ginger was a true gem in the horse world; willing and happy to go and see places and have wonderous adventures with her best friend and caretaker, Sheila. In the herd she was the one that all the other horses listened to. She was smart and a strong passive leader, yet gentle and sweet natured. She was the most trusted soulmate of our president Sheila, and we will all sorely miss her.

Macha (click here for pre and post trim)

Macha also belongs to our President Sheila Campbell. She is a 4 year old mustang, and was adopted off the nearby Bookcliff Wild Horse Range when she was 2 years old. Sheila acquired her in April 09. She is still very green in her training, and has a lot of work ahead of her to become Sheila's next trail riding pal. While never having foundered in the past, her feet have become overgrown from traditional hoof maintenance, and will take a few more trimmings to get her beautiful natural mustang hooves back.

Dessa

Dessa, Paint mare owned by Dana LysonsDessa belongs to Dana Lysons, the rescue's Secretary. Dana acquired her in May of 2011 shortly after she moved back to Colorado from Illinois. Dessa is a registered paint breeding stock mare and according to her previous owner has had 12 champion babies. She is 25 years young and is quite feisty for her age. Dessa is definitely the boss mare in the pasture. Dana will be lightly trail riding her once spring and summer hit once she has some refresher training in her.
