 Amanda's Foundered Friends: Horse and Equine Rescue will use donations to help us rescue more equines on the verge of needless euthanization or sent to slaughter due to chronic or acute lameness. Our mission is to actively seek out horses and equines from auctions and feedlots, as well as accept referrals from local veterinarians for horses that will otherwise face euthanasia or abandonment.
Other projects your donation will be used for include the following:
Help to feed, supplement, provide general vet and hoof care, and have emergency funds for urgent injury or medical attention.
Building better facilities to create a natural environment, namely a paddock paradise, that suits the everday needs of the equine to help rehabilitate them to better health and wellness.
We want to expand to take in more horses in need, and your donations help us seek out a permanent home with lots of acreage that will be ideal for the rescue to grow.
Build an education program to educate horse owners about horse care, the benefits of natural barefoot hoof management, a holistic lifestyle and what they can do to help their own horses.
Hay is an essential component to the care of our rescued horses. We'd love to hear from you if you have hay you wish to donate! It is imperitive we receive grass hay that does not contain any alfalfa, clover, fescue, or other legumes. Ideally we'd like hay that was cut late in the season, some time between the hours of 4am and 7am. Grass is going for $5-$7 a bale, so if you donate just $5-$7 today, it will feed a rescued equine for 2-3 days.
Amanda's Foundered Friends soley functions on the generous tax deductible donations of private individuals, so we need your help to help us first and foremost care for our rescue horses, and grow our rescue to continue our mission of giving equines a second chance at life. We are a 501 (c)(3) non profit so your donation is tax deductible.
