AFF Minutes from 2nd meeting on 8/28/2009
In attendance of this meeting were Sheila Campbell, Heather Redding, Mitzi DeMont and Dana Lysons by phone.
First call to business was that Andrea will no longer be a part of the foundation's board members.
Dana wanted to discuss the Attendance clause in the Bylaws, should we have it or not? Heather felt that we are responsible enough to not need it. Everyone else agreed.
Dana explained that she got Paypal up and running on the website so we may get donations, but under Paypal's policy we may not touch the money till we get our 501(c)(3).
Discussed having someone get the forms for the 501(c)(3). Dana volunteered to, will check online for them.
Adding bios to the website about everyone that is a board member; everyone needs to write a 2 paragraph bio about themself, along with a photo of themself. Email them to Dana.
T-shirt status update: Mitzi emailed the logo to Cheryl but has not heard back, was going to try and contact her, but was unable to. Will try and contact her before the next meeting.
Business Cards for AFF: Dana will design one for us and Andrea may still have connections to print these for us; Sheila will check to see if she can still do this for us.
Karilynn is a friend of Dana's who has some previous experience with non-profits, and may be available to join us in a future meeting (via phone with Dana) to offer her experiences. Dana will talk to her to arrange.
Sheila has someone who already wants to volunteer and help with work around the horses. We need a liability form in such cases. Heather will work on getting one for us.
We need to discuss getting sponsorship ideas going, any ideas to be written down and brought up during discussion at next meeting. Also ideas for what to give people to say thanks for their sponsorship and donations, including different levels people can sponsor/donate at, etc. Write down ideas for fundraisers and bring to the next meeting.
All minutes after they are revised shall be emailed to everyone.
We need to get a P.O. Box and a phone number. Dana will look into the 1-800 phone number.

Last meeting Heather was asked to research about Income Tax Returns for the foundation. She reported that we will need a 990 form if we make $25,000 and a short form if we make less than that.
Next meeting was decided on September 20th, 2009 at 6:30 unless otherwise changed. CANCELLED
