AFF Meeting Minutes 6/26/2010
In attendance were Sheila Campbell, Mitzi DeMont and Dana Lysons by way of webcam.
Minutes from last meeting on 5/22/2010 were read by Mitzi.
Treasurer Report:
We have $187.66 in checking and $40.00 in savings.
Events:
On June 24th we participated in our first GJ Farmer's Market and Sheila reported the results were good. We raised $69.75 in donations and sales.
The next Farmer's Market is July 15th and we need to pay for the next one very soon.
We participated in the Collbran Gymkhana and Sheila reported we had unfortunate results and thus we will not be organizing another event there.
In the spring of 2011 we will hold our first annual Easter Egg Ride for which we need to start planning to apply for a permit with the BLM soon, as we have to give at least 6 months advanced time.
Newsletter:
We discussed the Newsletter for release at the end of the month and came up with a few more ideas and will work on more for the next one. Ideas included the following: Founder related topics, Paddock Paradise, hoof care, maybe even horse nutrition.
Sheila will provide a list of contacts to Dana via email to e-blast the Newsletter to those who signed up to receive it.
Rosie:
Sheila reported that the credit card balance for Rosie's tattooing is $262.50.
Rosie is in need of additional hay as Sheila reported that we are down to 8-9 bales of hay. The previous hay supplier had excellent quality hay and Sheila will be contacting him again to find out what he has available.
Due to the need of saving money more specifically for the immediate need for hay, Sheila has cut back on providing squishy to Rosie.
Sheila reported that it's time to think about putting Rosie up for adoption, she has become as sound as she can get. The price for Rosie's adoption shall be about $500.00.
Facilities:
We are in need of a liability sign for the rescue facilities, at least by our next event involving volunteers.
Website:
Mitzi did report that she did take pictures of shirt colors, made a list and sent them through email to Dana to create shop page for the website.
Sheila will take pictures of her horsehair bracelets to send to Dana also.
Dana will be providing prints of many of her new drawings, including one of a Friesan, up for sale not only on the website, but also for fundraising events.
Documents and Forms:
Sheila reports that we received a card in the mail from the Secretary of State to file an annual report for AFF by August 31st. Sheila will look into it further to figure out what we need to do and also file a name change.
This concludes the meeting minutes for this month of June, and the next meeting is planned for July 24th at around 6pm.
